Hero Future Energies Launches 29 MWp Solar Project In Chitradurga, Karnataka

Hero Future Energies (HFE), the renewable energy division of the Hero Group, has successfully commissioned its 29 MWp solar project in Chitradurga, Karnataka. This open-access facility is designed to meet the energy needs of the commercial and industrial (C&I) sector, furthering HFE’s commitment to advancing India’s clean energy transition and providing sustainable energy solutions to businesses.

The solar plant is expected to produce 33 million units of green energy annually, which will help reduce CO₂ emissions by 31,624 tons. This contribution supports India’s clean energy goals and its target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel energy capacity by 2030. The power generated will be supplied to several leading companies in the region, including BASF India Ltd, KEMS Forging Ltd, VRKP Sponge and Power Plant, and Aurigene Oncology Ltd., with whom HFE has already signed Power Purchase Agreements.

Hero Future Energies (HFE) has recently signed a major Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Karnataka, valued at ₹11,000 crore. This agreement focuses on significant investments in renewable energy and green hydrogen projects throughout the state, strengthening Karnataka’s position as a leader in clean energy. The partnership underscores HFE’s commitment to driving regional economic growth, creating jobs, and advancing India’s green energy objectives.HFE continues to expand its presence as a key player in the renewable energy sector with a diverse portfolio of solar, wind, and hybrid projects across India and internationally, including in Europe and Southeast Asia. The company remains dedicated to providing innovative energy solutions that meet the changing needs of businesses while contributing to a sustainable future.
