Hi-MO 9 Delivers a High-Scoring Performance in Xi’an Power Generation Demonstration

Recently, fresh results emerged from an eight-month PV power generation performance comparison experiment conducted on the rooftop of a commercial building in Xi’an, Shaanxi. The data demonstrated that the Hi-MO 9 modules equipped with second-generation BC technology significantly surpassed the TOPCon modules in both generation efficiency and cumulative power output, with a total energy yield that exceeded TOPCon by 7.74%, showcasing a strong and sustained comprehensive generation capacity.

Xi’an, Shaanxi, lies in a temperate monsoon climate zone with distinct seasons, hot and rainy summers, and cold, dry winters. Such diverse weather conditions create an ideal environment for testing the performance of modules. The demonstration platform ensured consistency in experimental conditions by using the same mounting systems and angles, connecting identical cables to the same inverters. The power plant operated continuously without obstruction, comparing the generation performance of the Hi-MO 9 modules enhanced with second-generation BC technology to TOPCon modules.

Demonstrate data from March to October 2024 indicated that the Hi-MO 9’s single-kilowatt generation capacity gained a 1.01% increase over TOPCon modules, with a peak daily increase reaching up to 1.73%. In terms of cumulative energy output, the Hi MO 9 modules generated a total of 1260.59 kWh — 7.74% more than TOPCon’s 1170.03 kWh. This notable generation superiority fully proves the exceptional performance of HPBC 2.0 cell technology. Importantly, this proof-of-concept data spanned three seasons and included various complex weather scenarios, such as high temperatures and rainy conditions, further confirming its stable and efficient generation prowess.

The Hi-MO 9’s remarkable generation capabilities can be largely attributed to its higher conversion efficiency, outstanding low light performance, and safe and reliable product quality. For solar power plants expected to operate outdoors for over 25 years, a module’s ability to generate energy steadily and efficiently throughout its entire lifecycle is not only a cornerstone of client value but also a powerful driver for the healthy and rapid growth of the PV industry.

Focused on customer value, continuous improvement and innovation are paramount. The performance of the second generation BC technology Hi-MO 9 modules in Xi’an reaffirms the product’s power generation strength in challenging outdoor environments. Currently, power plant projects using the efficient second-generation BC technology modules are being implemented globally at an accelerated pace, and Hi-MO 9 modules are poised to deliver to even more users the benefits of exceptional energy return and more reliable investment security.
