Indian Green Energy Stocks Trade Mixed As Renewable Sector Sees Strong Market Activity

Green energy stocks showed mixed movement in the Indian stock market on May 13, 2026, with several renewable energy and power-related companies witnessing gains, while a few major players ended the session in the red. The broader market remained largely stable, as the S&P BSE SENSEX was trading at 74,608.98, up 0.07 percent during the afternoon session.

Among the top performers in the green energy segment, Adani Green Energy emerged as the biggest gainer. The company’s stock price on the BSE rose 4.40 percent to Rs 1,363.50, while on the NSE it climbed 4.56 percent to Rs 1,367.70. Another strong performer was NTPC Green Energy Ltd., which gained 4.15 percent on the BSE to reach Rs 111.55 and increased 3.71 percent on the NSE to Rs 111.15.

Several other companies in the energy and renewable sector also traded positively. Indian Oil Corporation recorded a gain of more than 3 percent, with its stock reaching Rs 141.90 on the BSE and Rs 141.74 on the NSE. Websol Energy also witnessed healthy buying interest, rising nearly 3 percent on both exchanges.

Wind energy company Inox Wind gained around 2 percent, while GAIL also moved higher by nearly 2 percent during the trading session. Engineering major Larsen & Toubro traded firmly in the green with gains of more than 1.5 percent. Battery manufacturers Amara Raja Energy & Mobility and Exide Industries also registered modest gains.

On the losing side, Tata Power was among the top laggards in the sector. The stock declined 2.94 percent on the BSE to Rs 406.10 and dropped 3.37 percent on the NSE to Rs 404.30. Praj Industries also faced selling pressure, falling over 2.5 percent on both exchanges.

Other stocks that traded lower included Borosil Renewables, JSW Energy, and Insolation Energy. Meanwhile, NIFTY 50 was trading at 23,412.70, up 0.14 percent, reflecting a cautiously positive trend in the broader market.
