Indian Renewable Energy Stocks Trade Mixed as Sector Shares Rally Up to 6.85% on October 9, 2026

Indian benchmark equity indices ended higher on October 9, 2026, supported by broad-based buying across the domestic stock market. The S&P BSE Sensex advanced 1.23% to close at 72,472.33, while the Nifty 50 gained 1.30% to settle at 22,520.45. Amid the positive market sentiment, renewable energy and power sector stocks recorded mixed performances, with several companies registering notable gains while others ended the session in negative territory.

Inox Wind emerged as one of the strongest performers among renewable energy stocks, rising 6.85% on the BSE to close at Rs 66.78. On the NSE, the stock advanced 6.76% to finish at Rs 66.65. Kabra Extrusion also witnessed significant buying interest, gaining more than 3.7% on both exchanges. The company’s shares closed at Rs 802.05 on the BSE and Rs 800.00 on the NSE.

Larsen & Toubro recorded gains of more than 2.1% across both exchanges, ending the session around Rs 3,700. NTPC Green Energy also advanced over 2% to close near Rs 92.80. Tata Power gained more than 1.6%, finishing at Rs 341.00 on the BSE and Rs 342.15 on the NSE.

Adani Green Energy shares rose more than 1.2% to close around Rs 1,255, while Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy gained over 1% to end at Rs 162.40. Indian Energy Exchange recorded an increase of approximately 0.9%, closing at Rs 104.75. Amara Raja Energy & Mobility registered a marginal gain of 0.19% on the NSE, ending at Rs 721.70.

However, several stocks experienced selling pressure despite the broader market rally. Praj Industries declined approximately 0.9% on both exchanges, closing at Rs 287.30 on the BSE and Rs 286.90 on the NSE. Insolation Energy also fell around 0.9% to Rs 79.00, while Websol Energy dropped approximately 0.6% to close at Rs 66.10.

Reliance Industries declined around 0.5%, ending near Rs 1,171, while JSW Energy eased approximately 0.5% to Rs 462.70. EKI Energy Services also featured among the stocks facing negative pressure during the session.

Juniper Green Energy recorded divergent movements across exchanges. Its shares closed marginally higher on the BSE at Rs 274.30 but declined 2.21% on the NSE to Rs 274.45.

The October 9 trading session reflected varied investor activity across the renewable energy and power sector. While gains in Inox Wind, Kabra Extrusion, NTPC Green Energy and Tata Power supported the positive trend, declines in several other stocks highlighted the uneven performance within the sector despite the broader market advance.
