The Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd. (SECI) has completed an e-auction on August 14, 2025, for the production and supply of green ammonia in India. The auction was conducted under the SIGHT Scheme (Mode-2A-Tranche-I) and was linked to a project for Coromandel International Limited in Kakinada, with a fixed supply quantity of 85,000 metric tons. The official Request for Selection number for this project was SECI/C&P/MI/00/0002/2024-25.

The auction was carried out on the ‘e-SecureAuction’ platform and was designed for a single entity with a fixed quantity. The process began with a starting and reserve price of 64.63 Indian Rupees per kilogram. Several bidders participated in the competitive round, which aimed to bring transparency and fair pricing for the production and supply of green ammonia.

At the end of the e-auction, the top-ranked bidder emerged as Jakson Green Private Limited. The company submitted a final bid of ₹50.75 per kilogram, which was significantly lower than the initial starting price. Both the quoted and loaded bid values matched at this rate. Special remarks in the auction document confirmed that the final price was fixed in INR per kilogram.

The successful completion of this auction marks a significant milestone for India’s green ammonia production efforts. With Jakson Green declared as the winning bidder, the project under the SIGHT Scheme demonstrates strong participation from leading players in the clean energy sector. The auction has highlighted the competitive spirit of the industry while ensuring a secure and transparent process for all participants. This achievement not only strengthens India’s progress toward clean fuel alternatives but also supports the country’s wider renewable energy transition.
