The Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) has published the draft “KERC (Procurement of Energy from Renewable Sources) (Eleventh Amendment) Regulations, 2024” and is inviting objections, suggestions, and views from stakeholders and interested individuals. The draft regulations were initially through the Karnataka Gazette.

As part of the consultation process, KERC has scheduled a public hearing on December 30, 2024, at 11:00 AM in the Court Hall of the Commission. This hearing will provide an opportunity for stakeholders and interested parties to participate and present their views in person. The Commission encourages all concerned individuals or organizations to engage in the process and submit their feedback.

The regulation aims to address various aspects related to the procurement of energy from renewable sources, which is an important step in advancing the state’s renewable energy goals. The draft regulations will be reviewed based on the feedback received during the hearing and through written comments.

This public consultation is an essential part of KERC’s efforts to ensure that the regulatory framework remains transparent, effective, and aligned with the needs of the renewable energy sector. It provides an opportunity for various stakeholders, including industry representatives, government bodies, and the general public, to contribute to shaping the future of renewable energy procurement in Karnataka.
