Levanta Renewables Awards EPC Contract to CEEC for 166 MWp Solar and BESS Project in Philippines

Levanta Renewables, a Southeast Asia-focused renewable energy platform backed by Actis, has awarded and signed an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract with China Energy Engineering Group for the Barotac Solar Power and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in the Visayas region of the Philippines.

The contract encompasses the full EPC scope for a 166 MWp solar photovoltaic (PV) facility integrated with an 80 MWh battery energy storage system, aimed at enhancing grid stability and ensuring reliable power supply in the region.

The agreement marks a key milestone in Levanta Renewables’ greenfield portfolio expansion in the Philippines, highlighting the company’s integrated capabilities across project development, financing, construction, and operations.

Commenting on the development, Pramod Singh, CEO of Levanta Renewables, stated that the partnership combines the firm’s development expertise with CEEC’s global EPC capabilities, positioning the project for high standards in execution, safety, and reliability.

Representing CEEC, Guo Jizhong emphasized the company’s commitment to delivering the project with stringent quality and safety standards, leveraging its global EPC experience.

Additionally, Kou Bin highlighted the firm’s expertise in overseas EPC services and reaffirmed its focus on collaborative execution to ensure project excellence.

The Barotac Solar + BESS project is expected to contribute to the Philippines’ renewable energy target of achieving a 35% share in the energy mix by 2030, while strengthening clean and reliable power capacity in the Visayas region.
