LONGi has officially commenced mass production of its Advanced Contact Matrix (ACM) solar cells at its manufacturing base, marking a significant milestone in the commercial deployment of the company’s next-generation solar cell technology.
The company said the launch follows nearly a decade of research and development that resulted in multiple breakthroughs across ACM solar cell materials, manufacturing processes and equipment integration. LONGi has also established a comprehensive intellectual property portfolio covering the technology’s core materials, process recipes and production systems.
According to LONGi, the ACM solar cell has achieved a certified conversion efficiency of 27.6% from Germany’s Hamelin Institute for Solar Energy, while the ACM module has received certification from TÜV Rheinland for a maximum power output of 672 W.
The company said production data indicate that ACM technology delivers a 0.2–0.3 percentage point improvement in mass-production conversion efficiency and increases module power output by 3–5 W compared with existing technologies. Following gigawatt-scale pilot production and qualification, the technology has demonstrated high levels of stability and manufacturing reliability.
LONGi added that ACM technology has successfully transitioned from laboratory development to commercial production since the trial line delivered its first customer order in December 2025. Close collaboration between the company’s research and development and manufacturing teams enabled rapid equipment optimization and process validation during the scale-up phase.
According to the company, integration of its BC 2.0 platform with ACM manufacturing processes represents a key step in its solar cell efficiency roadmap and next-generation technology development.
LONGi also highlighted the speed of the production rollout, stating that its new materials facility progressed from project initiation to mass production in just three months, while the production ramp-up period was shortened by 20 days compared with the company’s standard deployment schedule. The company said the rapid commercialization provides a foundation for expanding ACM production across multiple manufacturing sites.
“Standing at the new starting point of volume production, LONGi aims to translate its rapid-scale-up experience into standardized capabilities, steadily advancing ramp-up and capacity expansion across multiple sites while continuously driving next-generation technology upgrades without compromising quality,” said Zhong Baoshen, Chairman of LONGi.
Li Zhenguo, Founder and Chief Technology Officer of LONGi, said the company will continue strengthening collaboration across its supply chain to further enhance the competitiveness of ACM technology. Meanwhile, He Jiangtao, Head of LONGi’s Cell Manufacturing Center, said the combination of BC 2.0 and ACM processes marks a major advancement in the company’s technology development roadmap.
LONGi said it will continue to focus on technology innovation, strengthen collaboration between research and manufacturing, and deliver high-efficiency, high-reliability solar products to support the continued growth of the global solar industry.
