Exploration company Mosman Oil and Gas has confirmed findings of helium and methane at its Sagebrush project in Colorado, following a review of historic gas sample data.
The company reviewed data from the project’s former operator and found reports of gas sample analysis dated December 1993, which reported helium concentrations of 2.76% and methane concentrations at around 20%.
Mosman Oil & Gas believes that the flow rates, if paired with attractive gas compositions, could support commercial helium production with added methane production.
The company will next explore how to separate and sell helium and methane. Carbon dioxide could also be sold or released, while nitrogen would be released into the air.
