NISE Extends Deadline And Eases Eligibility For Renewable Energy Startup Incubation Proposals

The National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE) has issued a corrigendum to its earlier Call for Proposal (CfP) dated 25 June 2025 for supporting startup incubation in the renewable energy sector. This initiative is being carried out in collaboration with the National Solar Energy Federation of India (NSEFI) and the Atal Incubation Centre (AIC), IIT Delhi. The corrigendum introduces important changes to the eligibility criteria, application process, and the closing date for submitting proposals.

Under the revised eligibility criteria, an additional clause has been added. This new clause states that the committee will have the discretion to relax the existing eligibility conditions in exceptional cases involving extraordinary or innovative proposals. The final decision on such relaxations will rest with the Director General of NISE. This change aims to encourage more innovative ideas from startups that may not meet all the standard requirements but show high potential.

The application process has also been updated. Applicants are now required to fill out the Google Form available at the provided link. They must then email a printed copy of the submitted Google Form, duly signed and stamped, to incubation@nise.res.in by 11:59 PM IST on 9 September 2025. This replaces the earlier requirement of sending a soft copy of the application form in PDF format along with enclosures by email by 26 August 2025.

The closing date for the Call for Proposal has also been extended. Instead of the earlier deadline of 26 August 2025, applicants will now have until 9 September 2025, 11:59 PM IST to submit their proposals. These changes have been made with the approval of the competent authority and are expected to provide startups in the renewable energy sector more flexibility and time to apply, while also broadening the scope for innovative participation.
