Capacity losses are looming, new sources remain limited and new demand drivers are set to put further pressure on supply. However, the development of new CO2 production pathways and technologies could create opportunities – if they can be brought to market at the right pace.
These questions will take centre stage at gasworld’s , which gets underway tonight with a drinks reception at the Sheraton New Orleans.

On the agenda
The two-day conference will bring together CO2 producers, distributors, technology providers and other industry stakeholders for discussions spanning market dynamics, sourcing, capture, processing and logistics.
The opening session, ‘The Market in 2026: Risks & Opportunities’, will look at near-term market realities, long-term opportunities and the challenge of strategising local supply from a distributor perspective.
Attention will then turn to capture opportunities and technologies, including emerging CO2 supply pathways, technology readiness and infrastructure requirements, before a live edition of the 1895 Podcast explores the potential for CO2 to be converted into chemicals and fuels.
Day two will focus on technology advances in CO2 processing and logistics, covering compression, food-grade CO2 measurement and sampling, and the movement of CO2 by rail. The programme will also examine dry ice demand and distribution, before concluding with a panel discussion on the risks and opportunities facing the market.
New Orleans
Following last year’s summit in Denver, the event moves to New Orleans for 2026, bringing the CO2 community together at the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel from 14 to 16 September.
