NTPC Commissions 34.4 MW Solar Capacity At Ramagundam, Boosts Total Group Capacity To 90,807 MW

NTPC Limited, a leading Government of India enterprise, has announced the successful commissioning and commencement of commercial operations for an additional 34.4 MW capacity of its 176 MW Solar PV Project located at Ramagundam in Telangana. The company confirmed that the commercial operation of this second part of the capacity became effective from 00:00 hours on May 29, 2026.

With the addition of this newly operational solar capacity, NTPC has further strengthened its renewable energy portfolio and reinforced its commitment towards clean and sustainable energy generation. The Ramagundam solar project forms an important part of the company’s broader strategy to expand green power infrastructure across India and support the country’s transition toward renewable energy sources.

Following this latest commissioning, the total installed capacity of the NTPC Group has reached 90,807 MW. At the same time, the company’s total commercial capacity has increased to 88,927 MW, reflecting steady growth in its operational power assets.

NTPC continues to play a major role in India’s power sector through large-scale thermal, hydro, solar, and renewable energy projects. Headquartered in New Delhi, the company remains focused on meeting the country’s rising electricity demand while advancing its clean energy goals.
