POWERCHINA, in partnership with Hamdan Bin Zayed School—one of the model institutions under the UAE’s “Hundred Schools Project”—conducted a cross-cultural learning open day at the Abu Dhabi PV3 Al Ajban 1.5GW Photovoltaic Project on November 6.

The event featured immersive site tours, interactive Q&A sessions, and hands-on learning activities, giving teachers and students an inside look at the technologies driving large-scale photovoltaic power generation. Participants also observed POWERCHINA’s on-ground contributions to the UAE’s clean energy ambitions.

Joe Helou, Executive Managing Director of the Al Ajban Solar PV3 Plant, highlighted the project’s significance, noting that it serves as a key component of Abu Dhabi’s clean energy infrastructure and plays an important role in supporting long-term sustainability goals. He added that the open day created a meaningful link between classroom learning and practical industry experience, helping students better understand the innovation behind renewable energy.

Li Junqi, Vice President of POWERCHINA MENA, acknowledged the students’ Chinese language studies and referenced classic Chinese teachings to emphasize the value of cultural exchange. He encouraged students to “study hard and make progress every day,” urging them to become future contributors to China–UAE cooperation, green development, and global sustainability.
