Californian industrial and cryogenic equipment supplier Ratermann Manufacturing (Ratermann) has been named supplier of the year by US-based independent distribution network Messer Distributor Buying Group (MDG) for its efforts to support distributors across North America.

The recognition follows a review of Ratermann’s relationship with MDG, which identified gaps in meeting expectations. In response, the company developed a structured turnaround plan and worked to rebuild the relationship across the organisation.

Marie Ratermann Williams, Vice-President of Sales at Ratermann Manufacturing, said, “Our internal challenges were not an excuse; it wasn’t fair to our customers.”

“We got together with our teams, built a plan, and made it our mission to turn it around.”

MDG aims to support a community of member distributors and encourage the companies to resolve common business problems, engage in mutually beneficial programmes, and promote business growth.

MDG is a US distributor buying group and part of the industrial, medical and specialty gas company Messer Industries. Its supplier of the year award recognises supplier performance within MDG’s distributor network.
