SEG Solar, a leading U.S.-based manufacturer of photovoltaic (PV) modules, and Talon PV, a U.S.-based solar cell manufacturer, have entered into a strategic partnership under which Talon will supply high-performance N-type solar cells to SEG starting in the first quarter of 2026. This collaboration is expected to enhance the domestic content in SEG’s PV modules, enabling the company to achieve full “Made in America” status. By sourcing solar cells from Talon, which manufactures in the United States, SEG will also mitigate potential supply chain disruptions associated with importing foreign silicon-based components. The official signing ceremony was attended by Adam Tesanovich, CEO and Co-Founder of Talon, and Jim Wood, CEO of SEG.

SEG Solar’s manufacturing facility in Houston, Texas, commenced production in 2024, marking a significant milestone in the company’s expansion. By the end of February 2025, SEG’s second production line will be fully commissioned and operational, increasing the facility’s production capacity to 2GW of PV modules annually. The company remains committed to advancing its research and development, optimizing supply chain management, and strengthening its local production capabilities to deliver efficient and competitive solar solutions to the U.S. market.

Adam Tesanovich, CEO and Co-Founder of Talon PV, said, “We are deeply honored to establish this partnership with SEG. SEG’s stringent standards for product quality align closely with our company’s philosophy, and we look forward to a long-term collaboration.” Talon’s U.S.-based N-type cell manufacturing facility is scheduled to commence operations in the first quarter of 2026, with an annual initial production capacity of 4GW. At that time, we look forward to supplying SEG with high-quality, domestically manufactured N-type cells.”

Jim Wood, CEO of SEG, said at the signing ceremony, commented, “Cooperation with Talon is of great strategic importance to SEG. Talon’s high-performance, reliable cell products align perfectly with SEG’s commitment to quality. As U.S.-based manufacturers, we share a responsibility to drive the resurgence of American manufacturing and support local job creation. This partnership strengthens our Houston, Texas operations, furthering our efforts to expand domestic production capacity and deliver high-quality solar products to American customers. With the support of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), this collaboration will not only enhance our product competitiveness but also accelerate the growth of clean energy jobs in our community.”

The partnership with Talon PV is a critical component of SEG’s broader localization strategy. By working together, the two companies aim to drive growth in the North American solar market, enhance resource integration, and contribute to the long-term development of the U.S. PV industry. This collaboration will not only improve supply chain efficiency but also ensure a stable and sustainable local supply of high-quality solar products, reinforcing SEG’s commitment to supporting American manufacturing and meeting the evolving needs of its customers and partners.
