Singapore is stepping up support for biomethane as a low-carbon fuel.
Speaking at the start of Singapore International Energy Week, Minister-in-charge of Energy and Science & Technology Tan See Leng said the goal is not just to get through the energy transition but to capture “new growth opportunities” with biomethane out front.
One pilot project is a biomethane ‘sandbox’ to test and develop biomethane’s full potential.
The plant created will have a capacity of up to 300MW, to catalyse supply chain development and facilitate adoption by industry players.
