SOFAR Launches PowerIn and PowerMagic Mini for C&I Energy Systems

SOFAR unveiled two new solutions at Intersolar Europe 2025—PowerIn and PowerMagic Mini—designed to expand its footprint in the C&I PV and energy storage market. The launches, presented over two consecutive days, highlight the company’s ongoing push for innovation in Europe’s fast-evolving clean energy sector.

The commercial and industrial market for PV and energy storage is growing rapidly—but with that growth comes complexity. Businesses seeking to reduce energy costs, stabilize their operations, and transition to greener power face persistent challenges: high installation and system integration complexity, limited available space, safety concerns in high-density urban environments, and a need for smarter energy use. These hurdles often result in underperforming investments or system oversizing, especially for installers and developers lacking access to flexible, high-performance solutions.

SOFAR’s newly launched PowerIn and PowerMagic Mini are designed to directly address these challenges. Rather than offering incremental updates, these two solutions rethink how C&I storage can be deployed—intelligently, modularly, and with safety and O&M simplicity at the core.

PowerIn is a highly flexible PV+ESS solution designed for small to medium-sized commercial and industrial applications. With 200% PV input, 150% overload capacity, and a built-in EMS, it allows for dynamic energy shifting and intelligent load management. It supports flexible battery expansion, mixed SoC usage, and features comprehensive protection systems including IP66-level enclosure, AI- based AFCI, and unbalanced load support. PowerIn’s design enables faster installation, fewer system mismatches, and lower operational risk—all key demands for EPCs navigating fragmented building environments and evolving local grid codes.

Meanwhile, PowerMagic Mini delivers an all-day efficient, ultimately safe, smart- managed, and user-friendly solution for AC coupled C&I scenarios. It is engineered as the world’s first direct liquid-cooled C&I ESS, supporting a maximum 1P rate solution. With comprehensive battery monitoring, it can detect faults at an early stage. PowerMagic Mini applies cell heat insulation, thermal runaway early suppression, three-level fire suppression, system directional gas exhausting, and a top mounted explosion vent to realize protection at all levels and ensure the ultimate safety of the BESS. Its full-load operating noise level of less than 60 dB(A) makes it ideal for semi-public or space-constrained locations. With the self-developed BMS, PowerMagic Mini can achieve full-time equalization of the battery system to optimize the BESS’s usable energy by up to 5%.

These innovations are more than technical upgrades—they are responses to real customer needs. As SOFAR Executive Vice President Frank Yu noted during the launch:
“At SOFAR, innovation is not about adding features—it’s about removing barriers. With PowerIn and PowerMagic Mini, we’re helping installers, developers, and business owners unlock more value with less complexity.”

With these launches, SOFAR reinforces its role as a solutions provider—not just of hardware, but of intelligently integrated systems aligned with market evolution. As the European energy landscape continues to decentralize and digitize, scalable and reliable C&I storage is no longer optional. It is essential.
