Solar First has successfully completed and delivered a 1 MWp rooftop solar power project in Thailand in 2025, marking another step forward in Southeast Asia’s growing renewable energy market. The project involved the supply of a complete solar mounting system designed specifically for a metal roof installation, addressing both performance and structural requirements.

The demand for solar power across Southeast Asia continues to rise, but the region’s climate presents unique challenges. High temperatures, heavy rainfall, and constant humidity can affect the durability and performance of solar infrastructure. In such conditions, ensuring corrosion resistance and long-term stability becomes essential. At the same time, industrial rooftop projects require solutions that do not damage existing structures, especially when it comes to maintaining roof waterproofing.

To address these concerns, Solar First provided a non-penetrative mounting system using specially designed clamps. This solution allows the mounting structure to be securely fixed to the metal roof without drilling holes. By avoiding roof penetration, the system eliminates the risk of water leakage and protects the integrity of the factory building. This approach is particularly useful for industrial facilities where operational continuity and building safety are critical.

The materials used in the mounting system were selected to withstand the region’s harsh environmental conditions. The structure is made from high-strength aluminum alloy and hot-dip galvanized steel, both known for their excellent corrosion resistance. This ensures durability and supports a system lifespan of more than 10 years, even under challenging weather conditions.

Another important aspect of the project was installation efficiency. The mounting system was designed to simplify on-site work, allowing faster deployment and reducing labor requirements. This not only helped lower installation costs but also minimized disruption to the client’s operations.

With this project, Solar First has demonstrated its capability to deliver customized and reliable solar mounting solutions tailored to local conditions. The company continues to focus on research, development, and quality control to meet the evolving needs of global clients. It also aims to expand its presence in Southeast Asia by supporting more projects that contribute to a cleaner and more sustainable energy future.
