SolarSquare, one of India’s leading residential rooftop solar companies, has announced that it has crossed the milestone of 250 MW in installed solar capacity, underscoring its growing role in driving India’s clean energy transition. Established in 2015, the company has been transforming rooftops into power plants and today operates in 20 cities, with plans to expand its presence to 50 cities by 2030 by entering new and emerging markets. Out of the 250 MW milestone, 100 MW has come from residential projects, including installations on over 25,000 homes and across 240 housing societies.

The remaining 150 MW has been delivered through commercial and industrial projects, where SolarSquare has installed solar systems on factories and warehouses for several well-known brands such as Swiggy, D’Decor, and Force Motors, among others. The company operates on a full-stack model, managing the entire process from system design and installation to securing government permits, arranging financing, and providing long-term maintenance. By removing middlemen, SolarSquare ensures a seamless and affordable shift to solar energy for its customers.

Shreya Mishra, CEO & Co-founder of SolarSquar, stated, “It’s been 10 years of building SolarSquare and we are humbled to have become the #1 residential solar brand of India today. But we are just getting started, while 20 Lakh homes in India have adopted solar so far, there are crores of homes still waiting to join the solar revolution of India. And that’s why we are the first company in India to offer rooftop solar with a promise of guaranteed savings, taking responsibility for not just the installation but also 100% responsibility of the performance of solar thereafter. Making the switch to solar truly hassle-free for Indian families.”

This achievement comes at a time when India is working to speed up rooftop solar adoption. The government has set a target of 40 GW of rooftop solar by 2026, but only about 11 GW has been achieved so far. SolarSquare is helping bridge this gap, particularly in light of the recently launched ₹75,000 crore PM-Surya Ghar scheme, which aims to solarize 1 crore households across the country. As it approaches its 10th anniversary in 2025, SolarSquare is further strengthening its role in delivering clean, affordable, and locally generated energy to both households and businesses, while contributing to India’s broader renewable energy goals.
