Global semiconductor company STMicroelectronics has signed a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA) for renewable electricity to help reduce emissions at its semiconductor facilities in France.

Under the terms of the deal, TotalEnergies will provide STMicroelectronics with the renewable energy produced by two recent wind and solar farms totaling 75 MW of energy.

The PPA marks STMicroelectronics’ first in France and will support its goal of becoming carbon neutral in its operations by 2027, including the sourcing of 100% renewable energy by 2027.

It’s the first time in France that a 15-year PPA agreement has been provided.
