Sungrow Signs Landmark 1 GWh Energy Storage Agreement With Romania’s ENEVO Group

Sungrow, a global leader in PV inverter technology and energy storage systems (ESS), has entered into a landmark agreement with ENEVO Group, one of Romania’s prominent energy solutions providers, to deliver a series of ESS projects totaling 1 gigawatt-hour (GWh). This collaboration marks a significant milestone for both companies and reflects the increasing confidence in Sungrow’s advanced storage technologies as Europe accelerates its shift toward renewable energy.

The partnership will roll out in two major phases. The first phase, consisting of 440 MWh of energy storage projects, was ordered earlier this year and is scheduled for delivery by December 2026. The second phase adds an additional 560 MWh, bringing the total capacity to more than 1 GWh once all installations are completed. These systems will be deployed across multiple locations in Romania and will utilize Sungrow’s PowerTitan 2.0 Liquid Cooled Battery Energy Storage System — a flagship solution recognized for its efficiency, safety, and suitability for large-scale grid support and renewable integration.

With Europe witnessing a sharp rise in the demand for flexible and resilient energy storage solutions, Sungrow continues to strengthen its position as a trusted provider of bankable, technologically advanced ESS products. The PowerTitan series has already been integrated into various utility-scale projects across several European countries, including the UK, Germany, Spain, Greece, Italy, Sweden, Finland, Cyprus, and Bulgaria. These deployments underscore both the reliability of Sungrow’s systems and the company’s strong ability to deliver local technical and operational support.

According to Radu Brașoveanu, CTO and co-founder of ENEVO Group, the partnership reflects a shared vision for advancing renewable energy infrastructure. He noted that their collaboration began in the solar sector and has now evolved into a broader strategic alliance, with this 1 GWh agreement marking a major expansion into battery energy storage. The initiative supports ENEVO Group’s ambition to grow as a leading EPC contractor for large-scale BESS projects across the region.

James Li, Vice President of Sungrow Europe overseeing the ESS business, emphasized that the trust and confidence of partners like ENEVO Group play a crucial role in Sungrow’s global growth. He highlighted that Sungrow is committed to delivering comprehensive support throughout the design, delivery, commissioning, and operational phases, ensuring long-term project success and contributing to enhanced energy security for the region. This strategic agreement not only strengthens Sungrow’s position as the world’s No. 1 bankable company in PV, ESS, and PCS as recognized by BloombergNEF, but also reinforces its presence in one of Europe’s most promising and fast-evolving energy storage markets.
