TCL SunPower Global And Bellsolar Join Forces To Boost Clean Energy In Réunion Island

TCL SunPower Global, a leading provider of solar energy solutions, has entered into a strategic partnership with Bellsolar, a major solar distributor in Réunion Island, to supply advanced residential solar systems and home energy storage solutions across the island. This collaboration marks a key step in TCL SunPower Global’s international growth and highlights its commitment to improving clean energy access in new regions.

The partnership was formally launched at a signing ceremony attended by Mr. Johnny, President of the Chinese Business Association in Réunion, underscoring the importance of global cooperation in advancing sustainable development. As part of this initiative, TCL Solar panels and SunPower home energy storage systems will be made available throughout Réunion Island via Store 109, Bellsolar’s established offline retail network. This will provide local communities with direct access to high-quality solar technology, helping to meet the island’s energy needs through cleaner, more reliable sources.

Réunion Island currently generates over a third of its electricity from renewable sources but still relies heavily on imported fossil fuels, which poses challenges to energy security and sustainability. By improving access to solar and storage technologies, the TCL-Bellsolar partnership supports the island’s goal of reaching 100% renewable electricity by 2030. It also encourages greater energy independence for households and contributes to reducing environmental impact.

A spokesperson at Bellsolar stated, “Bellsolar is proud to collaborate with TCL SunPower Global to bring advanced energy solutions to the people of Réunion. Our deep understanding of the local market, combined with TCL SunPower’s cutting-edge technology, will enable us to deliver meaningful impact in the region’s energy transition.”

Steven Zhang, General Manager of TCL SunPower Global, mentioned, “This partnership represents a strategic step in our mission to deliver long-term value through clean energy innovation. Réunion Island’s abundant sunlight and strong political support for clean energy adoption make it an ideal location for solar PV applications. By expanding access to residential smart solutions in the region, we’re not only supporting local communities—we’re reinforcing our commitment to scalable, impact-driven growth in emerging markets.”

Beyond providing clean energy, the initiative also supports the local economy and social development. It is expected to create new jobs, promote energy equity, and improve living conditions. By enabling decentralized energy production and integrating smart energy storage, the project enhances the resilience of Réunion’s energy system. These storage solutions help manage electricity supply and demand more efficiently, reduce pressure on the grid during peak usage, and ensure a more stable power supply—especially important in areas where infrastructure may be vulnerable.

The partnership between TCL SunPower Global and Bellsolar demonstrates how thoughtful collaboration can deliver both business value and positive community impact. By making clean energy more accessible and reliable, the initiative supports long-term sustainability goals while protecting the island’s unique natural environment and improving quality of life for its residents.
