The 3rd Edition of The Solar Week Algeria 2026 concluded successfully on 31st January 2026 in Algiers, reaffirming Algeria’s continued momentum toward a more resilient and sustainable clean energy future. As the country advances its national solar and renewable energy ambitions, the event brought together the solar, energy storage, and clean energy ecosystem to support collaboration, knowledge exchange, and practical market engagement.
Set against the backdrop of Algeria’s renewable energy priorities and its national solar programme, the event served as a high level platform for policymakers, research institutions, utilities, developers, EPCs, investors, financiers, and technology providers to connect, exchange insights, and align on pathways to accelerate solar deployment, integrate energy storage, and strengthen grid resilience.

The program commenced with opening remarks delivered by Mr. Chikh Madjid, Director of CEREFE, setting the context for the day’s discussions. The opening was followed by dedicated knowledge presentations that brought international cooperation and local expertise into focus, strengthening the strategic depth of the agenda.
The knowledge presentations were delivered by Ms. Rym Zaiback, Head of Renewable Energies Components at GIZ. Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH, and Mrs. Ait Medjbar, Expert at Energy Cities Algeria. The sessions highlighted renewable energy policy frameworks, international collaboration, capacity building, and city level energy transition initiatives, offering practical perspectives to support Algeria’s evolving solar and decentralized energy ecosystem.

The agenda featured two focused panel discussions.
The first panel, Scaling Algeria’s Utility Scale Solar Program. Investment, Financing and Green Hydrogen Integration, examined policy and financing frameworks, grid readiness, and the role of green hydrogen in supporting large scale solar development.
The second panel, Decentralized Energy Drivers. Accelerating C&I, Rooftop and Minigrid Adoption Across Algeria, explored regulatory enablers, business models, and financing approaches to scale commercial, rooftop, and minigrid solar adoption across the country.
Together, the discussions provided practical insights into strengthening project bankability, enhancing grid resilience, and accelerating solar adoption across Algeria’s energy landscape.
