Trinasolar International Systems Business Unit (ISBU), the project development division of China-based Trinasolar Co. Ltd., announced the signing of a 20-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with AdventEnergy, a subsidiary of AboitizPower, for the Mabini Solar Project located in Barangay San Pedro, Mabini, Pangasinan. The facility will have a capacity of 49.9 MWac / 60.21 MWp.

The Mabini Solar Project has been granted Green Lane Certification by the Philippine Board of Investments (BOI), underscoring its role as a priority renewable energy development. This marks Trinasolar ISBU’s first greenfield project in the Philippines. The project is expected to begin commercial operations in the third quarter of 2026. Once operational, it will generate approximately 110.84 GWh of renewable electricity per year, supplying power to more than 24,000 households while reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 76,549 tons annually.

Derek Wang, Southeast Asia Country Manager of Trinasolar ISBU, highlighted that the project demonstrates the advantages of collaboration, saying “Together, we are advancing the country’s renewable energy goals and creating lasting value for local communities.”

James Yu, AdventEnergy President, mentioned, “This project goes beyond expanding our retail supply portfolio. We look forward to working hand-in-hand with Trinasolar to build a stronger and more sustainable energy future for our customers and the industries we serve.”

The signing ceremony took place on September 26, with key representatives from both companies in attendance. Trinasolar was represented by Southeast Asia Development Managers Janey Ma and Ren Noel Peter Gutierrez, along with Asia Pacific M&A Manager Peter Si. AdventEnergy’s delegation included President James Byron Yu, Vice President for Retail Operations and Portfolio Management John Davis Mangubat, and Assistant Vice President for Retail Operations Rence Pazcoguin.
