The global supply of helium, which is a crucial specialty gas, has been seriously knocked by the Middle East conflict, as is now well known.
But producing and moving helium to where it is needed is a relatively slow-to-unfold operation, so the stalled-in-places pipeline we now have has taken a while to be felt in some quarters.
