Waaree Renewable Technologies Limited (WRTL), a subsidiary of Waaree Energies Limited, has received a Letter of Award (LOA) from one of India’s thermal power generating companies for the development of a major solar and energy storage project.
The order covers Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) works for a 291 MWp ground-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) project integrated with a 280 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).
According to the company’s regulatory filing dated August 28, 2026, the project is a domestic commercial order and is scheduled to be completed during Financial Year 2027–28.
The project will combine utility-scale solar generation with battery storage, supporting the integration and utilisation of renewable power while adding energy storage capacity to India’s evolving power infrastructure.
Waaree Renewable Technologies stated that the promoters and group companies have no interest in the awarding entity. The transaction does not constitute a related-party transaction.
