Xcel Energy Recognized As One Of The World’s Most Ethical Companies For Sixth Year In A Row

For the sixth consecutive year, Xcel Energy has been recognized as one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies® by Ethisphere, a global leader in promoting ethical business practices. This distinction places Xcel Energy among just seven energy companies in the United States and 136 organizations worldwide to receive this honor in 2024. Ethisphere’s rigorous selection process is based on its proprietary Ethics Quotient®, which assesses companies on more than 240 factors.

These include ethics and compliance programs, corporate governance, workplace culture, environmental and social responsibility, and efforts to build a strong and responsible supply chain. A team of experts carefully reviews and evaluates the data, identifying companies that set the standard for ethical leadership across industries. At Xcel Energy, employees embrace the company’s core values—Connected, Committed, Trustworthy, and Safe—to foster a culture of integrity, responsibility, and excellence.

Bob Frenzel, chairman, president and CEO of Xcel Energy, stated, “We are committed to creating a culture where employees feel empowered to do the right thing for our customers and communities. Being recognized again as a World’s Most Ethical Companies honoree is credit to all of our teammates who have worked diligently to hold each other to exceptional ethical standards while we continue to deliver safe, reliable, sustainable energy while keeping bills as low as possible.”

“Congratulations to Xcel Energy for achieving recognition as one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies®. Behind this honor is a true dedication and a commitment to advancing business integrity. This approach is good for business – employees and other stakeholders value companies that prioritize the kinds of practices we measure with our process,” mentioned, Erica Salmon Byrne, Ethisphere’s Chief Strategy Officer and Executive Chair.

This commitment is reflected in the company’s ongoing efforts to serve customers reliably and sustainably. In 2024, Xcel Energy announced an ambitious five-year investment plan to enhance the resilience of its energy grid against increasingly severe weather events, meet growing electricity demands, and advance its goal of reducing emissions. The company is focused on lowering carbon footprints across three key areas: electricity, natural gas usage in buildings, and transportation. By prioritizing ethics, innovation, and sustainability, Xcel Energy continues to lead the way in shaping a cleaner, more reliable energy future.
