LONGi Drives Energy Equity in Emerging Markets with Groundbreaking BC Technology Innovations

LONGi Solar has secured a significant agreement to deploy nearly 100 MW of Hi-MO 9 modules in LATAM, marking a key step in closing energy equity gaps through cutting-edge solar technology. Led by LONGi’s European team, this project underscores the company’s dedication to providing high-efficiency, sustainable energy solutions in rapidly growing markets.

Project Overview: Sustainable Infrastructure for Emerging Economies

In collaboration with a leading infrastructure partner, the initiative focuses on a region experiencing fast industrial growth alongside the shift to renewable energy. The Hi-MO 9 modules, with their ultra-high power density (up to 670 W) and temperature resistance, are perfectly suited for harsh climates, while their efficient design speeds up deployment. The project aligns with national goals to enhance renewable energy access, drive economic growth, and decrease dependence on fossil fuels.

Mr. Francois Cui, President of LONGi Europe, stated that energy equity starts with technological accessibility. He emphasized that the project illustrates how BC technology enables emerging markets to bypass temporary solutions and embrace sustainable infrastructure, creating long-term value for both communities and ecosystems.

Mr. David Sanchez, General Manager of IBERA at LONGi Europe, highlighted that this significant project reflects LONGi’s continuous innovation. He pointed out that the widespread adoption of BC’s groundbreaking technology by customers is shaping the future of PV modules across the industry.

Hi-MO 9’s back contact cells deliver 8-10% higher energy yield in high-irradiance areas, crucial for regions with limited grid infrastructure. The project offers a 30-year performance warranty, ensuring long-term returns and attracting investment. It includes community engagement programs for skills development and job creation, while promoting ethical, low-impact construction for inclusive solar development.
