Astronergy Secures RETC’s Top Spot with Next-Gen ASTRO N7

Astronergy, a globally renowned Tier-1 PV module supplier, was today honored with the prestigious “Overall Highest Achiever” award by the Renewable Energy Test Center (RETC) during the SNEC 2025 International Photovoltaic Power Generation and Smart Energy Conference & Exhibition, highlighting the exceptional performance of Astronergy’s flagship ASTRO N7 module, which recently underwent a major upgrade incorporating the cutting-edge TOPCon 5.0 cell technology.

Designed to push the boundaries of efficiency, durability, and long-term reliability, the ASTRO N7 module achieved stellar results across all disciplines of RETC’s Thresher Test program—one of the most rigorous and comprehensive testing standards in the global PV industry. The module demonstrated exceptional durability, with less than 0.6% power loss in thermal cycling (TC600) and only 0.5% degradation in PID (Potential-Induced Degradation) testing, proving its resilience against long-term voltage stress and harsh climates. It also showed strong mechanical robustness and UV stability, including in the UVID (Ultraviolet-Induced Degradation) test, where power loss remained well below industry concern thresholds. These results confirm ASTRO N7’s ability to maintain high efficiency and power output over decades of operation, even under extreme environmental conditions.

This year’s award reaffirms the ASTRO N7’s industry-leading status, especially with the introduction of TOPCon 5.0 Astronergy’s most advanced high-efficiency n-type cell technology to date. The upgrade delivers enhanced energy yield, lower temperature coefficients, and improved degradation control, offering a compelling value proposition for utility-scale and high-performance rooftop applications in demanding climates.

“Earning RETC’s highest honor with our ASTRO N7 product is not just a recognition — it is a validation of Astronergy’s commitment to science-driven innovation and uncompromising quality,” said Ms. Haiyan Huang, EVP & CSO at Astronergy. “With the integration of TOPCon 5.0 technology, ASTRO N7 is engineered for next- generation solar projects that require both peak performance and lasting resilience.”

To be named an Overall Highest Achiever, module manufacturers must not only complete RETC’s full suite of reliability, performance, and quality tests, but also allow for random third-party sampling — ensuring transparency and real-world integrity. The award signifies that Astronergy’s ASTRO N7 not only meets but exceeds, the industry’s most stringent standards for bankability and operational longevity.

As the solar sector scales rapidly to meet global energy transition goals, the ability to verify module reliability through independent data is more vital than ever. Astronergy’s recognition by RETC positions the company — and the ASTRO N7 — as trusted pillars in the buildout of durable, high-performance PV assets worldwide.
