Ameresco Appoints Veteran Energy Executive To Drive Strategic Expansion Across Europe

Ameresco, Inc., a leading provider of energy solutions focused on supporting the global energy transition, has appointed Spyros Kairis as General Manager for South, East, and Central Europe. Based in Athens, Greece, Spyros will be responsible for overseeing regional operations, managing key projects, and driving business growth across these important European markets.

This appointment reflects Ameresco’s strategy to strengthen its presence in Europe and expand access to sustainable, innovative energy solutions. With over 20 years of experience in the energy and technology sectors, Spyros has held senior leadership roles at companies such as Artemis ITS SA, FieldCore (a GE company), and General Electric. His background includes expertise in profit and loss management, digital transformation, operational excellence, and strategic growth across multinational businesses.

Spyros joins Ameresco at a time when the company is building on a solid foundation of successful clean energy projects and long-term partnerships across Europe. His leadership will help the company deepen local engagement, scale its operations, and further its mission of supporting Europe’s ambitious climate and energy transition goals.

He holds a Master’s degree in Digital Communications and Signal Processing from Imperial College London, an MEng in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, and a BSc in Economics from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Spyros is also a certified Program Management Professional (PgMP)® and has completed executive training in leadership, change management, and digital transformation. With his appointment, Ameresco is positioned to enter a new phase of regional growth, expanding its impact and continuing to deliver forward-looking energy solutions across Europe.
