Masdar and EnBW Sign Strategic MoU to Explore Energy Storage and Green Hydrogen Projects Across Europe

In a strategic move to strengthen global renewable energy cooperation, Masdar has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG to explore joint development opportunities in battery energy storage systems across Germany and the United Kingdom, as well as offshore wind projects in the North Sea and Baltic Sea.

The agreement was formalized during the inaugural UAE-Germany Business Council meeting held in Berlin, where Masdar CEO Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi and EnBW CEO Dr. Georg Nikolaus Stamatelopoulos signed the MoU.

In addition to wind and storage initiatives, the two companies will also assess potential collaboration in other renewable energy technologies and green hydrogen development—supporting broader energy transition goals in Europe and beyond.

This partnership marks a significant step in advancing clean energy solutions and underscores the deepening bilateral cooperation between the UAE and Germany in sustainable energy innovation.
