Trinasolar And Solaris Energy Collaborate To Deliver 25 Megawatt-Peak Of Grid-Connected Solar Power In Sri Lanka

Trinasolar, a global leader in smart photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage solutions, has entered into a partnership with Solaris Energy (Pvt) Ltd., one of Sri Lanka’s prominent solar distributors, to support the country’s transition to clean energy. The two companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at SNEC 2025 in Shanghai, the world’s largest solar industry exhibition. The agreement outlines plans for the supply and deployment of 25 megawatt-peak (MWp) of solar modules across Sri Lanka.

This collaboration highlights Trinasolar’s growing presence in the South Asian market and its commitment to supporting Sri Lanka’s clean energy ambitions. As part of the agreement, Solaris Energy will nominate Trinasolar as one of its subcontractors for utility-scale solar projects in the country, subject to final contracts and agreements.

A key part of this partnership is the deployment of Trinasolar’s Vertex N series solar modules. These modules are built using advanced n-type i-TOPCon cell technology, offering high energy efficiency, better temperature tolerance, and lower Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE). The modules also feature high bifaciality and enhanced durability, making them particularly suitable for Sri Lanka’s tropical climate and energy grid conditions.

Elva Wang, Group Director for South, Southeast and Central Asia at Trinasolar Asia Pacific, stated, “This partnership with Solaris Energy marks an important milestone in our long-term commitment to Sri Lanka’s renewable energy journey. By combining our industry-leading Vertex N modules with Solaris’s strong local presence, we are enabling the delivery of reliable, high-efficiency solar infrastructure that supports the country’s clean energy goals. We look forward to accelerating sustainable growth and empowering Sri Lanka with world-class PV technology.”

T. Thiriyambagan, CEO, Solaris Energy, Solaris Energy (Pvt) Ltd, stated, “We are excited to collaborate with Trinasolar, a global technology leader, to bring advanced solar solutions to utility-scale projects across Sri Lanka. This MOU represents a powerful step forward in delivering future-ready infrastructure that strengthens Sri Lanka’s energy resilience. By integrating proven global innovation with deep local expertise, we aim to empower Sri Lanka’s transition to a low-carbon future.”

This agreement further strengthens Trinasolar’s footprint in the Asia Pacific region as the company continues to bring advanced solar technologies to new markets. By collaborating with reliable local partners like Solaris, Trinasolar aims to contribute meaningfully to Sri Lanka’s renewable energy goals. The MOU signing ceremony was attended by Todd Li, President of Trinasolar Asia Pacific, and T. Thiriyambagan, CEO of Solaris Energy, marking the beginning of a partnership focused on innovation, sustainability, and clean energy growth in the region.
