New LONGi Hi-MO X10 Light Makes Solar Viable for 30% More Rooftops Worldwide

LONGi has unveiled the Hi-MO X10 Light Design Module, a new innovation designed to address one of the biggest challenges in solar adoption: rooftop load limitations. Despite rising global demand for solar, more than 30% of rooftops remain unsuitable for panel installation due to structural load issues, leaving many owners unable to pursue clean energy because of costly reinforcements. The Hi-MO X10 Light directly targets this gap, making solar viable for low-load commercial and industrial (C&I) rooftops. Jiang Dongyu, President of LONGi’s Distributed Business Group, said that LONGi has always adhered to the development philosophy of stability, reliability, and technological leadership even when facing the trend of “cost reduction” in the solar industry. “When the demand for cost reduction conflicts with the “reliability” of products, LONGi will firmly prioritizes reliability.” said Jiang Dongyu.

Built on LONGi’s advanced HPBC 2.0 cell technology, the Hi-MO X10 Light delivers industry-leading performance with up to 24.8% efficiency and a maximum output of 560W. At just 7.2kg/㎡, it weighs more than 30% less than conventional modules, setting a new benchmark for lightweight, high-efficiency solar. The product was first introduced in China in May 2025 and is now expanding to global markets.

Lightweight advantage: The module’s optimized design reduces rooftop load by 42% compared to conventional dual-glass TOPCon modules. For example, a 10,000㎡ rooftop sees a 34-ton load reduction. Globally, this breakthrough could open more than 1 billion square meters of industrial rooftops to solar power.

Cost savings and efficiency: With 24.8% conversion efficiency—well above the 21.6% typical of similar products—the Hi-MO X10 Light produces 140W more per module than other lightweight options. This boosts system output while cutting balance-of-system (BOS) costs by up to 33%. By eliminating the need for expensive rooftop reinforcements, which can exceed 0.5 RMB/W in China, the module makes solar adoption significantly more affordable. Installation time is also shortened from over 40 days to just 8–10 days, minimizing disruption to factory operations.

Strength and reliability: Despite its lighter design, the Hi-MO X10 Light maintains robust durability. A one-line welding ribbon on the back enhances load distribution, increasing bearing capacity by more than 50% and reducing central deformation by 50%. A reinforced frame—5% thicker and structurally optimized—boosts overall strength by 20%, offering added resilience against high winds and heavy snow.
