On August 18, 2025, Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd. (SECI) successfully conducted an e-reverse auction under the SIGHT Scheme (Mode-2A-Tranche-I) for a major green ammonia project in India. The auction focused on Project-IX, a 50,000 metric ton initiative for Coromandel International Limited, based in Vishakhapatnam. This initiative marks a significant step in advancing India’s clean energy and green chemical production capabilities.

The e-reverse auction began with a starting price of ₹63.89 per kilogram. After the bidding process, ACME Cleantech Solutions Private Limited emerged as the winning bidder, quoting a final price of ₹51.89 per kilogram. This bid also represents the loaded bid value for the project. The auction was conducted as a “Single Entity” and “Fixed Quantity” event, ensuring transparency and clarity in the selection process.

The entire process was executed under the Request for Selection (RfS) number SECI/C&P/MI/00/0002/2024-25, which was issued on June 7, 2024. The e-reverse auction concluded successfully, confirming ACME Cleantech Solutions as the awarded entity for the production and supply of green ammonia for the specified project.

This project underlines India’s commitment to sustainable energy and industrial innovation. With the successful bidding completed, Project-IX is set to strengthen the domestic green ammonia supply chain and support the country’s broader decarbonization and renewable energy goals. The transparent auction process reflects SECI’s continued efforts to encourage competitive participation in the clean energy sector.
