RMC Switchgears Limited is excited to share its plan to set up a modern Solar Module Manufacturing Plant in Badodiya Village, Chaksu Tehsil, Jaipur, Rajasthan. The plant will have an annual production capacity of 1 GWp, and it will also produce Solar Module Mounting Structures with the same capacity. The project, which will cost around ₹100 crore, demonstrates RMC’s dedication to expanding its renewable energy operations and supporting sustainable growth.

The new facility will be built next to RMC’s existing plant, allowing for smooth integration and efficient operations. The project’s funding will come from a balanced combination of internal funds, equity, and debt, reflecting RMC’s careful financial approach. Both plants are expected to start operations by July 2025, with commercial revenues anticipated from August 2025.

The project will be carried out by RMC Green Energy Pvt. Ltd., a key subsidiary of RMC Switchgears Limited. To support this, RMC plans to increase its stake in RMC Green Energy from 51% to nearly 100% by investing more equity and purchasing shares from the subsidiary’s fresh issue. This move will give RMC greater control over operations and help strengthen its goal of building a complete solar ecosystem.

Mr. Ankit Agrawal, CEO and Whole-Time Director of RMC Switchgears Limited, stated, “This Solar Module & Module Mounting Structure Manufacturing Plants is a strategic backward integration for RMC, enabling us to reduce external dependencies and strengthen our ability to deliver Solar EPC and IPP projects seamlessly. By leveraging RMC Green Energy, we are not only supporting our current pipeline but also creating opportunities for commercial sales, positioning RMC as a significant player in the solar module market. This investment reinforces our commitment to innovation, sustainability, and delivering long-term value for our stakeholders. The addition to these lines will add the maximum products in our range such as EPC – Both Solar and Transmission, Modules, Structures, Solar Electrical Panels and Distribution Boxes, etc.”

As RMC explores new opportunities in Solar EPC and IPP projects, this expansion is an important step toward backward integration. The new Solar Module Manufacturing Plant will reduce reliance on external suppliers by meeting the needs of RMC’s ongoing and future projects. This integration will improve cost efficiency, ensure timely project completion, and strengthen supply chain reliability.

In addition to fulfilling RMC’s internal requirements, strong market demand will contribute to a solid top and bottom line for the company in FY 26. This initiative supports RMC’s Vision 2030 of becoming a ₹5000 crore company and helps advance India’s renewable energy goals. The new plant will strengthen RMC’s ability to efficiently handle large-scale Solar EPC projects and solidify its position in the renewable energy sector.
