Sri Lanka Clean Energy Week 2025 Shines Spotlight on Renewable Innovation and Leadership

Sri Lanka Clean Energy Week 2025, held at Marino Beach Colombo, brought together 250+ visionaries, policymakers, industry leaders, and innovators to chart the next phase of the country’s clean energy transformation.

The tone of the event was set with a Special Address by Mr. Hasith Prematillake, Managing Director, Hayleys Fentons Limited, who highlighted the importance of collaboration and innovation in driving Sri Lanka’s renewable energy future.

We were honored by the presence of Prof. Wijendra J. Bandara, Chairman, Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority, and Eng. Piyal Hennayake, Deputy Chairman/Commissioner, Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka, who delivered a powerful Keynote Address on “Accelerating Sustainable Growth in Sri Lanka: Clean Energy, Climate Resilience, Energy Security and Urban Innovation.

The day featured thought-provoking sessions, including a Leadership Talk on “Scaling Solar Energy: Policy, Investment, and Technology Pathways for Sri Lanka” by Mr. Javid Kamil, President, Solar Industries Association, and a Keynote Presentation on “Sri Lanka’s Renewable Energy Vision: Advancing Solar, Wind & Hydro for National Resilience” by Mr. Thusitha Peiris, President, Federation of Renewable Energy Developers.

Two highly engaging panel discussions explored sectoral priorities—DRE Perspective: Scaling C&I and Agri-Solar Through Developer-Led Models, Regulatory Support & Financing and Digital & Financial Enablers: Smart Infrastructure and Bankability for Scalable Solar Projects. These discussions were complemented by a vibrant exhibition floor buzzing with innovation and technology showcases, while the networking sessions fostered meaningful collaborations and partnerships, further strengthening the ecosystem for Sri Lanka’s clean energy growth.

Adding further depth, Mr. Tharindu De Silva, Senior Project Manager, Lanka Electricity Company Private Limited, delivered a Knowledge Presentation on “Engineering Smarter RE Projects: Storage, Digital Infrastructure & Automation.”

The event also served as a platform for recognition, with our Guests of Honor felicitating the award winners, celebrating excellence and leadership within Sri Lanka’s solar and renewable energy sector.
