Oxccu, a University of Oxford spin-out aiming to convert waste carbon into sustainable aviation fuels (SAF), has raised £20.75m ($28m) in its latest funding round.
The new capital will enable it to accelerate commercialisation efforts, expand operations, and advance the next phase of technology scale-up.
The announcement comes at a time of growing regulatory momentum and market demand for sustainable fuels, although despite mandates such as the UK SAF mandate and ReFuelEU, high production costs remain a blockage to widespread adoption.
Oxccu’s process simplifies SAF production pathways by eliminating the need for reverse water gas shift or e-methanol steps.
