Industrial gas major Air Liquide has merged five of its industrial divisions into a single department as it focuses on streamlining processes and increasing its use of generative AI (GenAI).
Speaking during an earnings call, CEO François Jackow said, “Before the merge we had five industrial divisions with quite a bit of overlap – but [also] some silos. We have brought all of that together.”
He said that transformation was “a little bit” costly but made sense given the expected efficiency gains.
The reorganisation aims to reduce silos, standardise performance KPIs, and accelerate best-practice transfer across Air Liquide’s five business lines – large industries, industrial merchant, electronics, healthcare, and engineering & construction.
