Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) has entered into three key Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with major international oil and energy companies to significantly ramp up India’s energy infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on expanding renewable and low-carbon energy capabilities.

The collaborations are aimed at enhancing refining efficiency, scaling clean energy production, and supporting India’s transition toward a sustainable energy future. Through these partnerships, BPCL plans to integrate green hydrogen, biofuels, and renewable power generation into its operational ecosystem, aligning with India’s commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2070.

  • Green Hydrogen Production: Joint development of green hydrogen facilities to decarbonize refinery operations and future mobility solutions.
  • Biofuel Expansion: Increasing production of biofuels and ethanol-blended fuels to reduce dependency on fossil fuels and cut carbon emissions.
  • Renewable Energy Integration: Scaling solar and wind-based power projects to support BPCL’s shift toward cleaner energy sources.

This move reinforces BPCL’s long-term energy transition strategy, which includes achieving Net Zero Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2040 and transforming into an integrated energy company focused on sustainability, innovation, and green growth.

By collaborating with global energy leaders, BPCL is positioning itself at the forefront of India’s renewable energy revolution—accelerating clean energy deployment while enhancing national energy security.
