Linde is eyeing some tuck-in acquisitions in the US and particularly in the packaged gases sector, according to CEO Sanjiv Lamba.
Speaking on a analysts call today, he said, “We have the balance sheet strength and the appetite to go about doing that [acquiring businesses]. I think we closed 18 deals globally last year and this year we’re seeing a per cent of our sales are going to come from tuck-in acquisitions in the packaged gases space. We feel good about that space and expect significant opportunities.”
His comments represent an update on those he made in an .
US sales were steady for Linde at $3.8bn in the third quarter, although operating profit dropped marginally, by 1%, to $1.2bn, and the market share was consistent at 31.2%.
