The Independent Welding Distributors Cooperative (IWDC) has appointed Terran Bergdale as Vice-President of Gas Programmes.
In her new role, Bergdale will be responsible for leading the organisation’s gas programme, driving profitable growth and delivering greater value to IWDC members.
She succeeds Rich Mansmann, who will work with Bergdale on the leadership transition through the remainder of 2026, before continuing with the IWDC in a limited capacity as Gas Technologies Fellow.

Bergdale joins the IWDC from US packaged gas distribution network Meritus Gas Partners, where she was director of quality for the company’s specialty and medical gases division.
Before that, she spent a decade at South Dakota-based welding supply and gas distributor A-OX Welding Supply, progressing through several leadership roles, including vice-president of operations and gas technologies. She also played a key role in establishing the company’s specialty gases business.
She served as chair of the IWDC’s PurityPlus programme training committee, from 2015 to 2025 and as a member of the GAWDA safety committee from 2019 to 2025.
Today, the IWDC connects independent welding distributor members, representing over $4.2bn in sales, across North America, supporting end users of industrial, specialty and medical gases, as well as related equipment.
