In a strategic move to expand its footprint in India’s renewable energy sector, RDB Infrastructure & Power Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NRG Renewable Resources Private Limited to develop a 51 MW (AC) / 65 MW (DC) solar power project near Nagpur, Maharashtra.
Valued at ₹277 crore, the project will be implemented across six sites, with work scheduled to commence within seven days of receiving the advance payment. According to the company, the contract is entirely domestic and involves no related-party transactions, underscoring its independent and competitive nature.
The large-scale project aligns with Maharashtra’s renewable energy goals and highlights RDB Infrastructure & Power’s growing role in India’s clean energy transition. With solar development emerging as a key component of the country’s energy mix, this project could significantly strengthen the company’s position in the renewable energy landscape.
Industry observers note that the project’s prompt execution timeline reflects RDB’s operational readiness to manage utility-scale solar initiatives. The company’s engagement with NRG Renewable Resources Private Limited also reinforces its strategic focus on expanding into sustainable energy ventures.
The initiative marks a significant diversification step for RDB Infrastructure & Power, traditionally known for its infrastructure projects. Successful execution of the ₹277-crore contract could open new opportunities for similar collaborations in the renewable space, supporting India’s broader green energy ambitions.
