In a move to strengthen its renewable energy portfolio, NTPC Limited has floated a tender for the operation and maintenance (O&M) of a 4 MW ground-mounted solar power project, integrated with a 1.25 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS), at its NETRA (Energy Technology Research Alliance) campus in Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
According to the tender details, the deadline for bid submission is November 27, 2025, with bids set to be opened the same day. The tender requires an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of ₹100,000, and the successful bidder must furnish a performance bank guarantee equivalent to 5% of the total contract value.
The selected contractor will be responsible for round-the-clock O&M services, including the upkeep of inverters, solar panels, duty transformers, and associated systems. Bidders must hold a valid Class A electrical contractor’s licence in Uttar Pradesh or an equivalent licence from another state, along with proof of application for UP validation.
The inclusion of a battery storage system underscores NTPC’s growing emphasis on hybrid renewable projects, which combine solar generation with energy storage to enhance reliability and grid stability.
Industry experts note that while the 4 MW capacity is relatively modest, the project plays a strategic role in NTPC’s ongoing efforts to expand its renewable and energy storage assets. The initiative is part of NTPC’s broader plan to integrate sustainability across its operations and reduce dependence on fossil fuels.
With this latest tender, NTPC continues to demonstrate leadership in the renewable energy domain, advancing India’s clean energy transition and reinforcing the role of solar-plus-storage projects in achieving national decarbonization goals.
