Ohms Energy Boosts Sustainability With Corrosion-Resistant Solar Plant At Scottish Chemical Industries, Taloja

Ohms Energy has revolutionized energy use at Scottish Chemical Industries’ factory in Taloja, Maharashtra, by installing a unique 300 kWp solar plant designed to withstand highly corrosive conditions. This breakthrough project showcases the potential of renewable energy in tough industrial settings, offering significant cost savings and reducing carbon emissions for the speciality chemicals company.

The factory’s exposure to chlorine gas, a key raw material, posed challenges for conventional solar solutions, as global providers couldn’t guarantee durability in such harsh environments. Ohms Energy partnered with Spark Solar to overcome this issue, creating custom corrosion-resistant panels and frames that ensure reliable and efficient performance in extreme conditions.

Ohms Energy successfully completed the project in strategic phases to ensure durability and effectiveness. The team began by addressing specific challenges with a tailored approach, followed by installing a solar test plant to refine the solution over a year. This groundwork paved the way for deploying a full-scale 300 kWp solar plant equipped with advanced materials and corrosion-resistant structures, designed to endure the factory’s harsh environment.

The cutting-edge solar plant not only meets the energy needs of Scottish Chemical Industries but also delivers impressive outcomes. It generates annual savings exceeding ₹38 lakh and reduces approximately 325.76 metric tons of CO2 emissions each year. This initiative aligns seamlessly with Scottish Chemical’s sustainability goals, enabling the company to lower its carbon footprint and transition to renewable energy for long-term growth and environmental stewardship.

Anuraag Gupta, Director of Ohms Energy, stated, “This project showcases our ability to solve tough industrial challenges with innovative and sustainable energy solutions. It opens new doors for industries dealing with unique environmental conditions.”

Rishab Khandelwal, Director of Scottish Chemicals, mentioned, “This initiative demonstrates our commitment to sustainability and serves as a model for industries like ours to adopt renewable energy solutions effectively.”

Building on this achievement, Ohms Energy is now exploring new opportunities with Scottish Chemical Industries and other prospective clients in the industrial sector. By leveraging their expertise in designing innovative and durable renewable energy solutions, the company aims to expand its impact, helping more industries transition to sustainable energy while addressing unique environmental challenges.
