Indian industrial gas company INOX Air Products has launched India’s first cryogenic tanker fuelled by liquefied natural gas approved by the Petroleum & Safety Organization (PESO).
The launch follows an amendment to the Static and Mobile Pressure Vessels (Unfired) Rules, 2016, which allows LNG-fuelled vehicles to operate in India with PESO approval.
Fuelled by LNG stored in a 450-litre Kryopower tank made by INOX India, the tanker is expected to reduce CO2 emissions by up to 25% and particulates by 95%.
The vehicle will primarily transport industrial gases produced by INOX Air Products in Gujarat to customers across the state.
