Geoeconomic concerns head list of global risks as world ‘is on a precipice’

Geoeconomic confrontation presents the biggest short-term risk to businesses, according to the World Economic Forum’s Global Risks 2026 report.

It was selected as the top risk most likely to trigger a material global crisis in 2026 by 18% of respondents, rising eight places on last year’s list.
