Jupiter International Limited, a leading Indian solar cell manufacturer and provider of solar power solutions, has secured a Letter of Empanelment (LoE) worth ₹64.95 crore from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL). The agreement covers the manufacture, supply, installation, testing, and maintenance of off-grid solar photovoltaic water pumping systems (SPWPS) under the state-run Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana (MTSKPY).

The MTSKPY initiative aims to solarize irrigation in off-grid regions of Maharashtra, with a focus on supporting small and marginal farmers by replacing diesel-powered pumps with solar-powered alternatives.

Commenting on the development, Akash Garodia, Promoter and Whole-Time Director at Jupiter International, said: “This Letter of Empanelment from MSEDCL marks a critical step in our journey to deliver impactful and sustainable solutions at the grassroots. By bringing solar irrigation to underserved farming communities, we’re not only replacing diesel with clean energy but also enhancing farmer incomes, improving water access, and supporting India’s broader agricultural decarbonisation goals.”

As part of its outreach strategy, Jupiter plans to launch farmer awareness initiatives through WhatsApp, SMS campaigns, and regional engagement networks to educate beneficiaries about the scheme’s benefits, application processes, and installation timelines.

Jupiter International’s entry into the solar pump sector aligns with its broader vision of accelerating India’s clean energy transition. The company operates a 959 MW high-efficiency solar PV cell manufacturing facility in Himachal Pradesh and aims to leverage its local manufacturing capabilities to expand solar-powered applications while maintaining a focus on quality, reliability, and long-term impact.
