Helium exploration and development company Avanti Helium has unveiled plans to deploy a ready-built helium processing plant at its Sweetgrass helium project in Montana.
The company signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding with an “established helium technology provider” for the plant that is expected to be moved from its existing site in the coming months.
Avanti Helium said the facility includes a helium recovery unit and a truck-loading system to produce market-ready helium for high-pressure transport.
The plant is designed for an inlet capacity of around 10 million cubic feet a day (MMcf/d), with about 95% uptime. Helium purity is expected to exceed 98%, with potential upgrades allowing ultra-high purity of 99.999%. The facility can also be expanded to handle up to 15 MMcf/d.
