DMEGC Solar Deploys 4.3 MW Lightweight Rooftop Solar System to Boost Industrial Clean Power in China

DMEGC Solar has completed the installation of a 4.3 MW rooftop solar project using lightweight photovoltaic modules at a major engineering vehicle equipment company in Hangzhou, China. The system is expected to generate around 4.82 million kWh of clean electricity every year. This project highlights how lightweight solar technology can be used effectively on industrial rooftops that have limited load-bearing capacity. Many industrial buildings in China and other countries have color steel tile roofs, which are not strong enough to support traditional heavy solar panels. Installing regular modules usually requires expensive structural reinforcement. This often leaves a large amount of rooftop space unused, even though it could support renewable energy generation.

To solve this issue, DMEGC Solar used its independently developed lightweight photovoltaic modules, which are 44% lighter than traditional modules of the same size. Even with their lighter weight, they maintain the standard dimensions and mounting interface design, making them compatible with existing installation structures. The modules have reinforced load-bearing areas that ensure long-term durability, especially in conditions of strong wind. This allows companies to adopt solar power without worrying about additional structural costs or safety issues.

The project works under a “self-consumption, surplus-to-grid” model. The electricity generated is first used by the factory to support its operations, which reduces dependence on grid power. Any excess electricity is then fed into the local power grid, creating an added stream of income for the owner. It is estimated that the project will help the company save more than 3.2 million RMB each year in electricity expenses. This makes the system not only an environmental asset but also a financially beneficial investment.

The clean electricity generated annually is equal to saving about 1,446 tons of standard coal and reducing around 2,752 tons of carbon dioxide emissions. This reduction in emissions is similar to planting over 107,000 trees. The project supports the company’s carbon neutrality goals and strengthens its green brand image. DMEGC Solar, recognized among the world’s top ten module manufacturers, continues to expand its product portfolio with high-efficiency solutions, including its Infinity RT series, full black modules, anti-dust modules, anti-glare modules, Agri-PV modules, and lightweight modules.
