Iberdrola has opened applications for the 2026–2027 academic year of its International Master’s Scholarship Programme. As the company celebrates its 125th anniversary, it continues to reinforce its long-term commitment to developing young talent and supporting academic excellence, with a focus on promoting a safe, efficient and sustainable energy model based on electrification.
Now in its 17th edition, the programme is designed for university graduates and final-year students who want to gain the knowledge and skills needed to address the challenges facing a rapidly evolving strategic sector. Iberdrola aims to promote specialisation in key fields critical to the electrification of the economy, including engineering, business administration, computer science, electricity networks, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, digitalisation, data analytics, mathematics and information and communication technologies, among others.
Successful applicants will have the opportunity to pursue master’s degrees at almost twenty leading universities and technology institutes. The list includes internationally recognised institutions such as the University of Edinburgh, the University of Strathclyde and Imperial College London in the United Kingdom.
In Spain, participating universities include Universidad Pontificia Comillas, Universidad de Salamanca, Universidad del País Vasco, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and Universitat Politècnica de València, among several others. Applications will remain open until 29 March 2026. After completing their studies, scholarship recipients will have the opportunity to apply for internships and job openings across Iberdrola Group companies, depending on their academic background and chosen specialisation. In this way, the programme not only offers high-quality academic training but also provides direct career pathways within one of the world’s leading energy companies, which is the largest in Europe by market capitalisation and the second largest globally.
Since it was first launched nearly twenty years ago, the programme has supported many young professionals in developing their careers through master’s studies, postgraduate training and research at top international institutions.
